Champions!
Here you can find a video tutorial for MEGDAN!
And for those who like to go bit more in-depth, here is the step by step tutorial in written form!
Welcome to MEGDAN, a turn-based dueling game! Let’s get down to action, as we’re sure you know your way around games and apps, so here’s the juicy gist of the gameplay!
These three delightful coins are your heroes.
They come in 3 flavors as you can read it from the runes on the coins each representing a different hero category.
STRIKERS are represented by this rune.
They move and attack in a cross pattern, they are straightforward slashers with great positioning capability.
FLANKERS are represented by this rune.
They are the fastest as they move diagonally, they can come around the enemy flanks and reposition quickly, though they can be tricky to maneuver into the perfect spot for an ambush.
DESTROYERS are represented by this rune.
They are slow and steady, they move across the board ponderously, but spread destruction in a wide arc, which makes them perfect anchors for your heroes on the battlefield.
Go ahead, click one of them. There you go! A radial menu pops up, showing current and total HPs. The bottom icon returns you to the board, the left one is for moves, the right one is for attacks and the top one activates special ability. The bottom icon can also cancel the selected action, in case you want to switch to a new one.
Speaking of attacks. Your heroes can EITHER move OR attack in a turn. That’s why you gotta think ahead and carefully position your warriors. Attack blasts along with their move pattern spreading mayhem to the enemy who stands in the way. Watch out, though! If the enemy sprung their attack in the same exact turn, your hero can get burned!
Okay, let’s move them around first. The white lit squares are those you can move onto. See how they differ from hero to hero. You can move as few or as many squares within the hero’s movement pattern. You can move each hero once, but the exact order of moves is up to you. They will move simultaneously with the enemy. Watch out! If you bump into the enemy, you will both run past each other e.g there is no blocking
Watch out, we are getting close up and personal with the enemy. Time to spring the attack. I’ll remind you that this is not a game of surge and strike, more of precise maneuvres and ambushing. A good trick is to catch your enemies in the crossfire, so there is no escape from the withering blows of your heroes. Go on, pick the attack option. Let’s wait for the enemy to make their move and… BANG! Look at those enemy HP melt. Maybe you will notice that certain attacks were more devastating than the others.
Let’s learn about different attacks:
Each hero has a default attack ability. For example, a Bogatyr deals 1 more damage point if allied Drug is present on the battlefield, and so does Drug. Polianitsa, on the other hand, has an attack that cannot be countered.
Learn those attacks well, as they are your bread and butter strikes.
Special abilities activate after first successful hit, have 3 turns cooldown and start on cooldown. They are activated and trigger a powerful ability that can be offensive or defensive in nature. Bogatyr, for example, suspends his attack but becomes undefeatable for the next two turns! Zmayevit can suspend his attack for the doubled attack power in the further two turns!
Triggered at the right time, these can be devastating to your enemy!
Unique ability is always active. You don’t have to activate it, press a button, or whatever. Just enjoy it. Bogatyr, for example, will activate riposte, dealing one damage point to each enemy that attacked him in this turn. Drug will heal all allied heroes by one damage point at the start of the player’s turn…
Study these well, as some can combine powerfully with the other heroes’ abilities.
Taking out one of the enemy heroes brings you closer to victory, but watch out even the crippled opponent can bite back! Now you are ready to take on the other gods and prove your worth in the field of MEGDAN!
