I'm working on an easy mode for the game and want to get it done before finishing the Main Menu, so I can implement them together with a difficulty selection screen. There's not really a need for a starting screen as it is now due to the game not having neither sound nor graphic options. In the next days I'll be adding a text system for the signs, background music, some sound effects and an easier difficulty mode with different numbers of enemies and hazards, hopefully toggeable at any point during a playthrough though I'm not sure about that last thing. The last thing I want to add are better animations and sprites for the player and enemies. I'm looking at the possibility of adding a map system, but with how small the game is I don't consider it to be really that important.
Depending on how I feel about the game after all of that is done, I may expand upon it to create a fully fledged experience that involves about two/three more areas, two more power-ups and two more bosses. I had ideas for expanding it but I'm not sure whether I'll want to do it or I'll prefer to go on to make another project.
