Version 1.50.44 adds a major new long-term endgame layer to Knights of Crystalis.
Roadmap features 104–107 are now implemented as one connected progression system:
104. Paragon System 105. Account Mastery 106. Prestige Seasons 107. Endless Campaign
The goal of this update is to ensure that reaching the normal account level cap is no longer the end of meaningful progression.
Instead, max-level players now enter a new persistent endgame loop built around Paragon growth, permanent Account Mastery, seasonal Prestige progression and infinitely scaling procedural campaigns.
Account progression now continues beyond Level 100.
Once the account reaches:
additional Account EXP is converted into:
Each new Paragon Level grants:
Paragon progression is permanent and continues indefinitely.
Paragon Points can be invested into five dedicated paths.
Increases Party Damage.
Provides Damage Reduction.
Improves Critical Chance.
Improves Magic Find.
Increases Maximum HP.
Each path currently supports up to:
This gives Paragon progression meaningful build decisions without allowing one infinitely scaling stat to completely destroy combat balance.
Some older saves may already contain account levels above the new Level 100 transition point.
Version 1.50.44 handles these saves safely.
A player at Level 120, for example, remains:
The save is not reduced back to Level 100.
Future Account EXP is simply redirected into the Paragon system.
This allows existing long-term players to adopt the new system without losing previous progression.
Paragon is only one part of the new endgame.
Version 1.50.44 also introduces:
Account Mastery is designed as an extremely long-term permanent progression layer.
Mastery Stars earned through Paragon and other endgame systems can be invested into specialized permanent bonuses.
There are currently:
Improves:
This path benefits players focused on high-level boss encounters.
Improves:
This gives loot-focused players another permanent progression route.
Improves:
The bonus is connected to existing crafting systems rather than being a purely decorative stat.
Improves rewards earned from:
This directly strengthens the new procedural endgame loop.
Improves:
This provides a permanent economic progression path.
Improves:
Players heavily invested in seasonal Challenges can accelerate their Prestige development.
Improves:
This Mastery path affects actual rewards from:
The Arcade Mastery therefore interacts directly with the Arcade League systems introduced in earlier releases.
Provides additional:
This gives defensive players another permanent endgame investment option.
A major focus of the implementation was ensuring Mastery bonuses are not simply values displayed in a menu.
All eight Mastery paths have been connected to real game systems.
The bonuses therefore affect the systems they describe.
This includes combat, loot, crafting, Endless Campaign rewards, Gold, Prestige progression and Arcade Tokens.
The game now contains recurring:
Each Season provides a temporary progression track with rotating Challenge objectives.
Season progress resets between cycles.
However:
This creates recurring objectives without deleting the player's long-term achievements.
Each Season currently contains:
Challenge categories include:
Completing Challenges grants Prestige XP.
Prestige progression currently contains:
Players gradually climb through the Season by completing relevant activities across the game.
This encourages players to participate in a variety of systems rather than endlessly repeating one activity.
Prestige Seasons currently contain:
Examples include:
Once earned, these remain permanently unlocked even after the Season ends.
The temporary part of the system is the Challenge progression.
The prestige rewards themselves remain part of the account.
The largest new gameplay system in this release is the:
This is a procedurally generated campaign mode designed specifically for long-term endgame progression.
Each Region generates its own:
The current system contains:
Examples include:
Different themes help make the Endless Campaign feel less like repeatedly fighting the same encounter with a larger number attached.
Regions can also receive combinations of:
Examples include:
These modifiers alter the threat profile of the generated Region.
Each Region contains:
The final node is a Regional Boss.
The system uses the existing real Auto-Combat engine rather than replacing combat with a text-only simulation.
This means Endless Campaign progression continues to interact with:
Endless Campaign progression can reward:
The game also tracks:
One major change was made during final QA.
The first implementation allowed difficulty scaling to become too flat after roughly Region 120.
That would technically allow infinite Region numbers, but the difficulty itself would effectively stop behaving like an endless mode.
This was redesigned before release.
Difficulty now continues increasing at a controlled rate indefinitely.
Example values from the final stress tests:
Region 100 → Enemy Level 278
Region 1,000 → Enemy Level 488
Region 50,000 → Enemy Level 1,255
Threat multipliers also continue increasing.
This means the mode remains meaningfully harder even at extreme Region depths.
The procedural generator was tested through:
The test verified:
This was specifically added to verify that the system behaves as an actual Endless Campaign.
The four new systems are designed to reinforce each other.
The long-term loop now looks like:
Play Endless Campaign
↓
Earn Paragon EXP
↓
Gain Paragon Levels and Mastery Stars
↓
Invest in Account Mastery
↓
Complete Prestige Season Challenges
↓
Unlock permanent Cosmetics
↓
Push deeper Endless Regions
This gives max-level accounts multiple parallel goals rather than only increasing one number forever.
The recent Chat discussion also resulted in a small UX improvement.
The old:
button was misleading.
The player was not actually writing a thread.
The button generated a new simulated NPC conversation.
It has therefore been renamed to:
START NPC CONVERSATION
NPC-GESPRÄCH STARTEN
The functionality remains the same, but its purpose is now much clearer.
The new Endgame Ascension systems have been added to the in-game System Guide.
Ascension now appears as a fully documented system route.
The game now contains:
Older references that still described only 36 routes were updated.
