Version 2.4 Alpha Released
Posted July 27, 2026 by devgb
Alpha 2.4 is a controlled release-hardening build. It does not add a new progression subsystem or alter the established combat and loot formulas. Its purpose is to make external testing safer, reproducible and easier to diagnose.
Playtest diagnostics
- Added a permanent bug-report button to the top action bar.
- Added issue categories, free-form problem descriptions and reproduction steps.
- Reports include build, schema, browser, platform, viewport, language, difficulty, progress summary, active combat summary, clock integrity, save health, recent game events and captured runtime errors.
- Complete save data, typed chat content and personal credentials are not included.
- Reports can be copied to the clipboard or downloaded as JSON.
- Added a separate
playtest.js module for diagnostics and runtime error capture.
Verified saves and recovery
- Every primary save now receives an FNV-1a checksum.
- Added three rotating automatic recovery points.
- A damaged or mismatched primary save is rejected before migration.
- The newest valid recovery point is restored automatically when primary validation fails.
- Added a Save Recovery Center showing timestamps, build IDs, sizes and checksums.
- Added manual verification and per-slot recovery controls.
- Kept the historical browser storage key for older-profile compatibility.
- Portable save download and upload remain available.
Guided playtesting and accessibility
- Added a contextual Recommended Next Action panel to Home.
- Added direct Home shortcuts for bug reporting and save recovery.
- Added High Contrast mode.
- Added Interface Scale from 85% to 130% without requiring browser zoom.
- Added a toggle for contextual guidance.
- Expanded the in-game tutorial with playtest reporting and verified-save guidance.
- Extended German UI coverage for the new diagnostics, recovery and accessibility controls.
Compatibility and migration
- Save schema increased to 24.
- Existing Equipment profiles, Campaign progress, Abyss progress, Aquarium data and social systems continue through the normal migration path.
- Migration events are recorded in a small local migration log.
- Profile reset now removes checksum metadata and all rotating recovery points.
