Notice on a Bug Affecting Certain Save Files

Brassica - A Marry Tale
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Hello!

Brassica has recently gotten an influx of new players thanks to itch.io's Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality, so first of all thanks again to everyone who supported it and checked out our game!

Along with this, we have also been made aware of a rather inconvenient bug that we want to highlight here so you can avoid it while we are working on a fix.

In essence, the bug breaks save files so they always jump back to the beginning of Act 2 no matter where they have been saved.

If one of your save files is affected by this, the best thing you can do right now is to just load it and continue from Act 2 again (you can skip to the part where you left off or where the save was supposed to be).
As far as we can tell, loading one of the broken saves temporarily fixes the bug for that particular playthrough and future saves work normally again.

Which takes us to the cause and how to avoid the bug in the first place:

The problem occurs at the save prompt between Act 1 and Act 2.
If you save at the save screen the narrator brings up, loading that save will break any future saves you make in that playthrough the way we described above.

Currently, the safest way to avoid the bug is to save after the save prompt at the end of Act 1.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this and are working on a fix!

Edit (24.06.2020):

We released a patch that fixes the bug, unfortunately save files that were affected by it remain broken. You can find more info on this in the release notes.
