Patch Notes – Version 0.16

Release Date: 29/05/26 

OVERVIEW 

This update focusses on: 

• Refining the combat features, such as the player's actions and the enemy's basic attack. 
• Adding visual indications for the combat aspect of the game and the time indication during the daytime. 
• Giving the player more time to explore the town and do the Sheriff’s Task. 

LEVEL DESIGN 

Added: 

• Lanterns are added in the scene that acts like a breadcrumb trail. 
• Rooster is added into the scene and acts as an alarm bell for the player. 

Updated: 

• Lighting has been refined and catered to the Art Style 

ART & ENVIRONMENT 

Added: 

• Environmental props, such as scattered bottles, bones, foliage and many goobers. 
• UI indications on NPCs, as well as Daytime to Night-time indication. 

Updated: 

• Sheriff Textures are now applied in the main menu, as well as updated case file textures. 
• Main path textures were added on the ground in the level. 
• Victory and Unsuccessful Combat Screens UI WIP. 
• Bartender Animations. 

GAMEPLAY 

Added: 

• There is a visual indication when the player dodges and parries. 
• There is also a visual indication for the Broken Bottle item effects and when the Evil Bartender uses its basic attack. 
• Victory and Failure Screen pops up when the player wins or loses. 

Updated: 

• Basic Attack and Broken Bottle has been refined. 

Fixed: 

• UI does not block the Evil Bartender 
• Player can walk over skulls during the day 

BUG FIXES 

Major: 

• Rooster on some occasion activates the Bartender task. This has been resolved. 

KNOWN ISSUES 

UI: 

• When exiting, the scene zooms out strangely. 
• When hovering on granny case file, red border appears on Brothel Lady instead. 
• Settings Menu lacks functionality, this is still a WIP. 

ART & ENVIRONMENT: 

• Many characters still lack animation; this is a WIP. 
• Some props do not have collisions when they are needed. 

COMBAT: 

• There's a bug where enemy HP goes below 0 when you deal more damage on last turn but has not been fixed yet. 
• Rooster pops up during nighttime combat, which will be removed.
