Hey everyone! I am incredibly excited to announce a major update to the project that brings powerful new tools for analyzing and studying matches. You can now import your own chess databases directly into the app using .pgn files.
I built this feature from the ground up with performance in mind. You can load massive PGN files quickly and use the new custom filtering tools to instantly sort through the data. Whether you want to study specific endgame scenarios or drill down into your favorite openings, the new search filters will help you find exactly what you are looking for without the wait.
If you are looking for a massive dataset to test out the new import and filtering tools, I highly recommend checking out LumbrasGigaBase. They offer extensive, regularly updated chess databases completely for free in the .pgn format. You can grab their collections here: LumbrasGigaBase PGN Downloads. It is an excellent starting point for building your own personal analysis library.
To help fund the continued development and optimization of this project, the PGN database import is rolling out as a premium feature. You can unlock full access to it by making a donation of $30 or more right here on our itch.io page.
Because itch.io handles things a bit uniquely, the unlocking process is done manually. Once you make your qualifying donation, I will personally send you a direct message containing a valid license key. You just paste that key into the app, and the database features will instantly unlock for you.
