Devlog — Title Screen & Web Build Improvements
Added Title Screen
The game now starts with a dedicated title screen.
Features added:
- Game title display
- Start button
- Quit button
- Disabled Option button (placeholder)
- Background visual effects
- Animated wave shader
- Ambient particle effects
This is the first step toward a more polished presentation before gameplay begins.
Web Version Improvements
I spent some time testing and improving the HTML5 build.
- Confirmed that the full game runs in a browser
- Improved UI scaling behavior for web builds
- Verified gameplay works on desktop browsers
- Initial mobile browser testing was successful
The browser version is now much closer to the downloadable version than expected.
Visual Experiments
I experimented with several title screen effects:
- Floating particles
- Ocean-like wave motion
- Dynamic wave line thickness and distortion
- Layered background animation
The current version creates a calm, magical atmosphere that fits the world of SORA.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where a shader file was accidentally overwritten during title screen development
- Restored player and gate rendering
- Cleaned up title screen layout and UI positioning
Next Steps
- Title logo animation
- Title BGM
- Option menu
- Additional visual polish
- Continued gameplay balancing
Thanks for following the development of SORA: The Lost Kingdom of the Magic Sword! ⚔️✨
