Changelog (html5, PC, Mac) — November 14, 2017

Crescent Loom
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Heya, small update; I’m giving a guest lecture & demonstration of CL at Reed College tomorrow morning. Updated html5, windows, and mac. I’ll get linux on the next one, promise.

Changelog:

  • Removed most of the buttons and cell information that nobody looked at the bottom of the screen. Expanded voltage readout and made it more clear which line was which to fill the space.
  • Tweaks to the mouseover-menu for cells. Can now set synapse strength by one of those little icons.
  • Fixed bug where tutorial lines don’t play after the first time you open it.
  • Added a racing level that pits four creatures against each other at a time. Right now, they’re hardcoded -- I’m using this for a class demonstration. Similarly, there’s a level with a pre-made creature to edit. Pay them no heed.
  • Split the normal racing level into two: a mode where you put your own creature in and it will keep racing against different challengers, or a “fishbowl” mode where random creatures race.
  • Can fake mousewheel by pressing + / - on keyboard.
  • Converted audio files to .ogg, which should bump the total game size down by like 10mb.
