Baby's First Day One Patch

Impress Conference
A browser game made in HTML5

There were a few glitches and presentational hiccups that I wasn't able to get to in order to hit my noon release time, so I've gone and fixed them:

  • Clickable credits have been disabled.  I would have liked to link directly to the assets and photos I used, but getting the game to interact with the browser is tricky, so for now only the creator and asset names are available. I'll do a separate devlog dedicated to those links.
  • The speed at which terms appear on the news ticker/clicker have been slowed. Some types of speech, particularly names and entities, were spawning too quickly and crowding each other, so they should be more spaced out now.
  • Some text alignment has been fixed ("LIVE," the DOW Jones percentage number)

Unfortunately some things can't be fully gauged when working in Unity's play mode. Either they involve things outside the game engine (clickable credits), or they are affected by the resolution of the game (term speed, which is faster--because of there being fewer pixels--in smaller resolutions). This is probably common knowledge for experienced devs, but hey-- live and learn!
