Patch Notes v0.8.0

Dread & Breakfast

Dread & Breakfast — v0.8.0 (Apr 14, 2026)

Jam prototype, post-jam patch. Still rough around the edges — full UI pass and overhaul is next so panels and HUD behave better, especially in the browsER --> if I can manage to get another patch out after this. 

Haunts (Abilities) Afterimage and Intrusive Thought stick on, linger, and follow targets for a bit, Apparition tuned to be a bit more forgiving with a larger splash size, ability use in crowded rooms got a buff (i.e. Whispers and Spectral Choir inflict more fear in a group), Ectoplasm Pool VFX corrected to be more accurate, 

Onboarding — Intro / help text and spotlight stuff cleaned up so it’s (hopefully) easier to parse.

QoL — Nicer feedback when you’re tight on resources, clearer readouts, small flow tweaks so the night feels less fiddly.

Sound — More variety in visitor fleeing SFX reactions and some more general audio tuning. 

Visitors — Looser, chattier, a bit more reactive; minor behavior and pacing tweaks. A few new lines relating to grabbing. 

Balance & polish — Props, abilities, brightness, hover text — a bunch of small passes, nothing worth a spreadsheet.

Fixes — Stability + a few edge cases --> misaligned texts, visitor speed on entry fixed, and more.
