Prototype Demo 4

Adaptive Command Prototype
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Everything since last Demo (Feb. 14th):

New:

  • Gameplay Features + Mechanics
    • Status Effect System
      • Applies effects on units
        • At the moment, only two units apply effects
          • burn effect - applies damage each turn
          • frozen effect - target can’t do any action for a turn
    • Supply Line
      • A series of connected buildings that transports the mined resource  from the resource facility to the owner’s faction base
        • Bugs:
          • The supply line positioning is off, but it still functions, and it goes through buildings, and units can move through them
          • Should be Fixed - a resource facility will be spawned, but it won't transport resources
  • UI
    • Mini Map
      • Clicking on a spot on the mini map teleports the camera to the position
    • Options button
    • Tooltip displaying info on the unit/building that was clicked
    • A section of the bottom part of HUD displays the active effects on the currently selected unit
  • Units
    • Scout unit
      • Deploys drones
        • Drones alert the owner of enemy units near it
          • This is a WIP (work in progress)
    • New Combat Units (Human faction only)
      • The visuals are  is WIP
  • Buildings
    • Resource Facility
      • Generates a supply line and transports the mined resources
  • Sound is played when it’s your turn

Update:

  • Camera + Controls
    • The middle mouse button also pans the camera
  • Map
    • Resized Hex tiles
    • Fog of war is actual fog on top of tiles
    • Resources are more spread out
    • Doesn’t go beyond the map boundaries
    • Units and Buildings fit better on the tiles
      • Them fitting more perfectly is still WIP
  • UI
    • Updated HUD UI
    • Lobby UI improved
      • Choose to create a session or join before continuing
    • Scrolling on a UI panel no longer makes the camera zoom
    • Timer plays a sound as it reaches 0, and when the current player’s turn has ended
  • Units
    • Both Players are the same faction
    • Only start with the Command Unit
    • Harvesters no longer stop collecting resources
    • Updated Damage Calculations
      • Ammo types deal more/less damage depending on the target’s armor
  • Buildings
    • Factories play a VFX when creating a unit
      • Bug- you cannot see the VFX on an factory owned by enemy player
