So to start, yes, I am still working on this project way after the scream forever jam and will be till this project is finished!

So what to expect?

2Views will be VASTLY different from the jam version, from a visual standpoint to the story and gameplay itself

I am in the stage of remaking the project from scratch to include more features like puzzles, inventories, a more "complex" dialogue system that's modular (In layman's terms, easier for me to handle + language support), and I'm optimistic for future Steam integration (Achievements and stuff) if I can release this game on Steam.

The release (no dates yet) will include the prologue and part 1 for the low-low price of zero, and future parts will be a part of the paid version of the game (no prices planned currently).

I also want to clarify that future parts will not be DLC or different games; it will all be in one big, juicy narrative-driven game.

Each part will be at least an hour long, so the demo version would probably be like 2 - 3 hours worth of playtime in total (this is just an estimate based on the story I've written so far)

The project so far...

Right now, I'm almost done with the backbone of the game, like the gameplay mechanics, loop and saving and loading, etc, but nothing visually impressive as for now to show it to you guys (unless you'd like to see big rectangles of different colours everywhere).

Story-wise, I already have a roadmap for the development and the story beats, but that's as far as I'm going to reveal.

Visually... uhh... It's a mess... all I've done so far is concept and a couple of UIs, but I do plan on reworking the character sprite to be more up to par with my current artistic abilities (the jam version is ugly and rushed, blergh...)

When can you expect to play this game?

Prologue and Part 1 WILL release in 2026, but I have no specific release window, so it could be as early as this spring or as late as this winter.

I want to thank you for your patience and anticipation for this project (I'm a single developer making this passion project, so any support, even just reading this, is GREATLY appreciated and helps motivate me to keep working.)

And I'm also hoping that writing these silly devlogs would help people who are interested in my project see what I am up to.

Extras

To anyone interested in this project, I will be updating on its status here AND on my Instagram, where I may post some art of 2Views (and maybe teasers too). Plus, If you're an artist, you will NOT regret checking (and maybe following) my account as I have an upcoming community activity that involves YOU (it will be interesting, trust me...)

Anyways, that's it for this first devlog! I hope to see you readers at the next devlog!
