Update:
- Chapter III uploaded;
- Added new sprites (variants),
- Added new Codex entries (unlockable);
- Minor fixes in Chapter II,
- Added additional expressions for some of the background characters;
- PNG files compressed;
- Music files changed to OGG.
Okay, so I guess the last log should have been a major update as well. Sorry, my bad.
Due to major changes in the script, your old saves won't be accessible in a version higher than 1.2. I am trying very hard to keep the game as light as possible, so I can actually upload it here. I compressed all art assets and changed music files to save the space but I am still looking for a better way to lower the game size. Sorry for the inconvenience.
For those wondering about the name, Perfumare is a Latin word, from which the word ‘perfume’ derives. It means "to smoke through" (according to wiki). I thought it's fitting for a narcotic distinguished as a bottle of vintage perfumes. A perfume, but not quite, hence the name. It’s also a clever (I say clever because I didn’t come up with that myself) play of words - perfume and nightmare, which is, I hope, in accordance with the general theme of this game. The second choice was a bit lengthy, and it was supposed to be: “Follow the Scent of Perfume” or more simply: “The Scent of Perfume”, but I made some changes in the story line and we only get to see a little about MC’s past working at the perfume shop, so I decided against using it.
