DevBlog 6 - Process
I am proud to announce that the bridge is very much stable.
This stable bridge means we are entering the final development phase. This is the last major roadmap before the mod is feature complete for release. Here is what is being cooked up to finish the project:
- Consequential Combat (The Scar System): Off screen combat will no longer just be HP math. NPCs will track limb damage and gain battle scars (becoming hardnened, gaining experience and becoming threat to the player.). Furthermore, surviving fights against stronger foes will level up their Toughness. The world levels up with you, or without you.
- Fluid & Non-Linear AI: NPCs are getting deeper personalities (Cunning, Patience, Sociability). Instead of blindly charging you for a vendetta, a Cunning nemesis will stalk you off screen and set up an ambushes only when your squad's health drops below a certain threshold.
- Sentient Sands (SS) Symbiosis: Through the identity hijack system, the VSim is being hooked up to Sentient Sands. NPCs will literally gossip about off screen fights that happened miles away, and surviving veterans will have entirely different, hardened dialogue.
These are the most important recent and final integrations so far.
