When Animals Attack

Interdict: The Post-Empyrean Age
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Hey folks. :D As I mentioned before, though this next update is a small one focused on polish and bug fixing before beginning the Enchanting update, I wouldn't be me if I didn't sneak in a little bit of content too. Part of that new content takes the form of three new spell lists that I'd like to introduce here.

Psionics: Call of the Wild is a new list focused on summoning insects and animals to aid you. Call forth swarms of insects to harass foes, and which will gain strength and find a new target when their original target dies. Or, summon loyal wolves who will stay with you throughout a battle, attacking automatically on their own or at your command. Finally... if you have the massive amount of Focus Points needed to sustain such a connection... you can form a link with a mighty bear who will attack your foes both at the end of the round and when they use melee attacks on you!

Psionics: Skinwalking also involves animals, but in the form of mutations you can take on to gain powerful and unique special attacks of your own. Take on the features of a wolf and gain a powerful bite and a debuffing howl. Or,  gain the powers of a great cat, shredding enemies with your claws and pouncing on even back row enemies. Finally, Skinwalking also gives you the option to claim the strength of a bear, delivering heavy attacks that cause Dazes and Stuns that persist into the next turn!

One less animal-themed spell list coming in the update is Sorcery: Runes of Protection. The new spells in this list allow you to grant yourself a damage-absorbing Ward automatically at the start of battles and bestow additional Ward on yourself and allies at need. Also included is a passive spell that allows you to Block as if you had a shield regardless of whether you actually have one or not.

We're pretty close to the release for this update, but there is one more major thing coming with it that I'll talk about in a sooner-than-usual follow up post to this one. :) Until then, cheers, and good luck on your adventures!
