New Game "Moon Reader"
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a project I've been working on for a bit. It’s called Moon Reader.
I really love games where you do a specific job, and talk to people, games like VA-11 Hall-A and Papers, Please. I wanted to make something that captures that same kind of vibe, but with a slightly different focus.
Moon Reader is a narrative life-sim set in a neo-futuristic moon colony. You play as a fortune teller. Clients come to your tent, sit across from you, and ask for advice about their lives. You draw tarot cards and then interpret what they mean.
The core of the game is about how you influence these people. You can tell them the honest truth about what they need to hear, or you can manipulate them to push them toward a specific decision. What you tell them ends up changing the story of the game.
But it's also a life-sim, so you have your own problems to deal with. You have to manage your time and make sure you earn enough credits to pay your bills. Sometimes you might have to tell a client what they want to hear just to get a better review and in consequence more clients. It can get pretty stressful trying to balance being a good person with just surviving (reminds you of something).
The game is still in development, and I'm currently aiming for a Q4 2026 release. I know that’s a long way off, but I wanted to start talking about it.
If a cyberpunk tarot life-sim sounds like your kind of thing, I'd really appreciate a follow/wishlist.
Thanks for reading, and let me know if you have any questions about the game! <3
