At last, Space Invaders is complete! Well, you know, at least until someone inevitably finds a bug or five.
This one took about 2.5 weeks, which I think is a good bit longer than the others thus far. Partially due to a bit of slacking on my part, and also due to running into some unexpected challenges.
The art and sound was on the easier side for this one, although this is the first project I created my own UI art for, so that was new. Simple art, but a new process.
The code side had its ups and downs. Figuring out how to create the entire group of enemies at runtime, and then having the whole group move together, switch directions anytime one of them collides with a wall, etc. was a fun challenge. The UFO situation required some serious thinking and a decent refactor because I started out using prefabs and ended up deciding not to in the end. All in all, learned a ton and had a great time with it.
