In The Dark V0.2 Update Notes
Version 0.2 adds major improvements to everything from the original version. See below for detailed update notes:
- Fixed volume changes not persisting between levels
- All settings values (video settings, control keys) are now saved between sessions
- Added a button to the level select menu that allows you to reset your progress
- Level progression will now be saved between sessions
- All sound sources in the game have been adjusted
- Fixed location of sound source on drone that moves around the main menu
- The game will now pause when the escape menu is open
- Key images will now appear correctly in the UI once you pick them up
- Keys can no longer be picked up more than once
- Fixed an issue where the player model would stay red after taking damage
- The player's barrier tool field effect will now turn off after the barrier runs out of charge.
- Made it easier to get the red key on the level "In Need Of Repairs"
- Made it easier to see rubble shadows
- Added a new light to the level "In Need Of Repairs" to make it easier to see rubble shadows
- Made it harder to progress through the level "A Slippery Situation"
- Change rotation min and max for the spot light at the beginning of the level "Sightlines" so that it is possible to get past it without being spotted
- Adjusted position of keys and rubble so that it is easier to reach keys before rubble falls (various levels)
- Changed layout of the Credits screen of the main menu so that text does not get cut off
- Removed Text from keys as it was too pixelated
- Changed appearance of health and stamina bars
- Changed texture for doors and thin walls
- Created and applied a catwalk texture to overhangs that appear in some levels
- Added a tube to the first level that the player breaks out of
- Reduced the size of a light located in the second level which was way too large
- Fixed entry light in second level which was blocked by a wall
- Added first pass of post processing
- Added details/props to all levels
- Flickering lights and lights controlled by switches will now stop playing sound and will visually turn off when they are not active
- Added tutorials to levels with new mechanics
- Fixed a light in level 6 which did not hurt the player
- Text telling the player the what the interact key is appears sooner in the game
- Removed the cameras dead zone so that it moves more smoothly
- Fixed an issue where light switches would not work reliably when the player went to use them
- Changed positioning of some lights to fix shadows they were casting
- Added more ambient sounds throughout the game
- Added a new water splash sound for when the player steps in water
- Added more tips to the death screen
- Added sound for when a terminal is used
- Fixed an issue where level select buttons were not making sound
- Made visual improvements to the main menu
