ShrinkoA browser game made in HTML5
Posted February 23, 2026 by ntesh
Shrinko update live now!
- Improvements
- Added Browser version
- Added Saving/Loading
- Only autosave at the moment
- Controllers now grow and shrink based on trigger pressure
- Start area
- Moved the start into the house
- Made gate switch more visible
- Improved vine climb, no longer requires you to be under a certain size
- Camera
- More progress on camera, it shouldn’t freak out nearly as much with collisions (but still does)
- Respawning isn’t as disorienting now that the camera retains direction
- Water update
- Better and more consistent drowning (Shrinko can’t swim)
- Ripple decals
- Increased light limit by switching to Forward+ rendering pipeline.
- New content
- Added dark pickups
- Areas will soon have dark versions of pickups which will eventually unlock a grand mystery when collected
- Dark pickups emit a different noise when near them, but their emission range is much smaller
- Added new secrets to existing areas. <Shot of graveyard closed building>
- Bug fixes
- Reduce ability to grow while next to objects to avoid clipping and launching
- No longer falling off some vertical ledges due to huge slope adjustment
- Other notes
- Some of the collectables were moved around, if they were moved drastically, they will have a new unique ID which means you will “lose” it and have to find it again.
- Since this is still in alpha, saves may not necessarily be forwards compatible. If something feels like it isn’t working properly, try erasing your save and starting over.
- Future hopes and dreams
- More depth to puzzles
- Right now puzzles primarily fall into “find and collect”. I’d like something that doesn’t get old very fast.
- Secrets at the moment are also just “find and collect” but harder. There are a few that aren’t and I’d like to expand further on that.
- More breadth to the world
- Only 3 areas are fully “completable”: the start area, the city, and the fall area. In future updates I would really like to finish the beach/pier.
