Hello [Code_Name: MEVYE] [Location: CLASSIFIED], welcome back!
Today we will see the importance of communication inside of a team!
One important thing we learned on the development of Noise Hunters is how communication can change the work. The first weeks of development we had enthusiasm to start and make progress on the game, but when we started to bump into problems and disagreements, the communication started to decay.
On a team where there is no communication, no one knows how the project is going, what is needed to be done, what are the priorities, etc. So the weeks go on without much progress and frustration builds up in the members of the team. This is a huge problem for any team, if the members burst out of frustration on each other causing people to want to quit and leave the project behind for a better work atmosphere, or the team will slowly burnout and could have drastic consequences in future projects.
Some started to build up in Noise Hunters, but with the help of external people and will, we managed to improve the communication between the members and create a great work atmosphere. In which, even if the work may not be the best of the best, the mental health of the people involved is good and that is the most important part. This will encourage people to improve and make a better self, not only on this particular project, but in their work lifetime.
We can give some tips to avoid or get out of this type of situations, based on our experience:
Thanks for reading and don’t make any noise! 🤫
