Hello everyone!

I'm excited to announce that the v0.6 update has been successfully ported from Steam and is now available here on itch.io!

Please note that this will be the final stable update released on the itch.io platform. Moving forward, all future versions and new content will be released exclusively on our official Steam page, which you can find linked in the description of the official itch io page.

New Features & Gameplay Mechanics

  • New Mod: "Try" Mode: Added a dedicated testing mode where the player is invulnerable but earns no score, designed for practicing levels without the risk of failure.
  • New Mod: "Easy" Mode: Implemented a dynamic damage reduction system based on current health percentage. (Note: This mode applies a 0.65x global score multiplier).
    • 100% – 80% HP: 1.0x Damage taken
    • 80% – 60% HP: 0.8x Damage taken
    • 60% – 40% HP: 0.7x Damage taken
    • 40% – 20% HP: 0.6x Damage taken
  • Note Synchronization: Completely synchronized all notes with the music for tighter gameplay.

Automatic & Custom Level Integration

  • System Overhaul: Completely reworked the automatic level generation algorithm. It is now ~1.6x faster and provides much higher accuracy when placing notes.
  • Custom Level Integration: Levels created via the "Custom Level Creation" tool now automatically appear in the main Level Selection menu.
  • Improved Audio Sync: Implemented automatic offset correction to prevent drift, ensuring notes stay perfectly aligned with the song even if the audio file has timing irregularities.
  • Silence Detection: Fixed a bug where notes would incorrectly spawn during silent parts of the song.
  • Tooltips: Added helpful tooltips to the Customize menu to provide better guidance on the available settings.

User Interface (UI) & Experience

  • Level Selection Rework: Completely overhauled the Level Selection menu into a scrollable list view for improved navigation.
  • Audio Previews: Added a feature that plays a short audio snippet of the track directly when selecting a level.
  • Mod Integration & Progression: Mod selection has been integrated directly into the Level Selection menu. Completed levels will now save and display the specific Mods used during a successful run.
  • Visual Iconography: Replaced text-based Mod indicators with distinct visual icons in both the Pause Menu and Level Selection screens, complete with interactive selection animations.
  • Visual Enhancements: Changed the multiplier, result screen, and loading screen backgrounds to better fit the game's aesthetic. The "All Multiplier" display during gameplay is now color-coded based on its current value.
  • Menu Improvements: Changed the main menu text shader for easier reading and implemented new visual button designs in the Pause Menu.
  • Removed: The Tutorial Presentation and the background glow of the compass have been removed to streamline the experience and visuals.

Visual Effects & Localization

  • Level Effects: Added, updated, and refined visual effects across all levels, including specific minor adjustments to the tracks "Higher" and "Get Mucky."
  • Localization Support: Added full localization support for English, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Korean, French, Polish, Turkish, and Bulgarian. Includes localized hover tooltips for all new mods.

Optimizations & Engine Updates

  • Engine Update: Updated the Unity version to 6000.2.7f2 to patch security issues present in the previous release.
  • Performance Optimization: Fully optimized game scripts, images, and animations for better performance. Refined menu transition animations for smoother and more responsive traversal between screens.
  • Resource Management: The Audio Visualizer and Sync Menu animations now suspend operation when switching menus or remaining inactive to reduce performance overhead.

Bug Fixes

  • Save System Logic: Fixed an issue where stats were saving individually. The system now performs an atomic update, overwriting all stats only when a new high score is achieved to ensure data consistency.
  • Gameplay Fixes: Fixed a bug where note delay was not applying properly across different levels. Fixed the Ghost mod so it correctly affects note children. Fixed the speed-up setting failing to save after re-entering the main menu.
  • UI & Menu Fixes: Fixed a bug that caused the loading screen to freeze while creating a custom level. Fixed the music improperly starting if the pause menu was opened and closed after dying or finishing a level. Fixed an issue where pressing 'W' in the main menu highlighted the wrong element in the sync menu. Fixed multiple UI tooltip visibility and persistence bugs in the Pause Menu.
  • Localization Fixes: Resolved translation bugs preventing "waiting for input" and "duplicate key binding" from translating, fixed occasional vanishing text, and corrected a rendering bug with certain Korean characters.
  • Customization Fixes: Fixed an issue where Perfect, Early Perfect, Early, and Miss percentages were not applying correctly in the Customize menu.
