I've added a small toy that uses the generation system for my followup to AHOGT! It outputs things like:
▥▦ merged newt-finches ▦▥
EATS:
seeding grass 🌾 sensitive tentacle-ruffed land cabbages 🌾 snap-jawed wood lilies 🌾 ground-covering leaves 🌾
EATEN BY:
nothing
🌱
▦▤▥▧ comingled frog-hulks ▧▥▤▦
EATS:
animal remains 🌾 plant remains 🌾
EATEN BY:
nothing
CAMOUFLAGED BY:
sensitive tentacle-ruffed land cabbages
🌱
So, pretty in keeping with the kind of weird stuff you've come to expect from the setting of AHOGT and A Moth Batters Against Glass. This system is a LOT more coherent than the system that AHOGT used, which was evocative but not particularly biologically consistent. I think I've managed to keep the sense of the random, alien landscape while making sure that, say, tiny frogs can't eat enormous buffalo. AHOGT may eventually upgrade to this new system, but that might be more on the level of HD Rereleases than updates, honestly (high definition text based procgen walking sim hell yes that definitely makes sense).
