Another new update!

Zetharis [Dev page. Unstable.]
A downloadable game for Windows and Android

Heya otherworlders! Another update is here.

I don't really have much to say right now, other than that...

Since the hit of a certain virus, I've lost my job.

So forgive me if i'll disappear for some time. Real life stability matters more after all. As usual, I appreciate all the support and kind words. It does help me feel better.

Let's just hope everything will stabilize soon.

On another, less serious note. I think I'll be doing another poll later, in a couple of patches. That was by far the best way to get feedback from everyone, and I am glad that you people participated in it. It really is a huge help.

Anyways.

As usual: If you spot any big bugs, or typos, report them to me. You can find a bug report form on the project's page.  I'll get around them and fix them eventually...

Also, I'll try to release the next update in a normal time-span as I usually do but. I don't know. Time will tell. I am sorry if I am doing it slow, I can only do so much while working on it alone in my spare time.

I still hope you are enjoying whatever I am making though. Thank you everyone.

Either way. Here's the changelog.

-Xin's quest now has the boss fully working as intended. (He's tough, but not too tough. It's reccomended to have full party before attempting to beat it.)

-New scene and it's variation has been added to a male vampiric bat.

-Updated the formatting in all of the vampiric bat scenes to be easier to read.

-Camp got a visual overhaul.

-Updated/redone Waira's sprite.

-Updated/redone Yalrak's sprite.

-Overall ajusted the encounter with the vampiric bat, to make sure it makes a bit more sense.

-Removed unnecessary text pop up that said "You ran away" after running away from combat, now it shows up in the results screen of the combat.

-Added: Settings.

-In settings: Added experimental battery saving mode. (Right now, the value is not saved between sessions, so you'll have to turn it on every time you launch the game. Working on it to make it persistent later.)

-In settings: Added the option to turn on v-sync, reccomended if you have screen tearing on. (Right now, the value is not saved between sessions, so you'll have to turn it on every time you launch the game. Working on it to make it persistent later.)

-In settings: Added the ability to change the background. (That is saved however.)

-Improved performance on lower end devices by removing unneeded scripts and collisions that are no longer needed after previous change from procedural text to hand crafted one. The performance difference is not that much, but it's still better than before. )

-FINALLY FIXED The turns animation getting stuck in the middle of the screen during combat. What a mess.

-Fixed minor typos in Xin's dialogue and adjusted some sentences to make more sense in the context of the quest.

-Adjusted the hit sizes in the camp, so misclicking a character that you want to talk to in the camp is no longer possible/almost impossible.

-Fixed a couple animator related warnings. (I don't think it actually affected the game's performance, but who knows.)

-Fixed a typo in female vampiric bat scene.

-Fixed even more typos in the post-encounter scenes with the vampiric bat. (I really need to smack myself in the head everytime i write "it's instead of its". The pain of being a non native english speaker and having no editor, i suppose.)

-Fixed a bug where battle speed shown up incorrectly in the ui, it was showing 0 instead of 1, and etc.

-Fixed issue where disclaimer didn't fully disappear on ultrawide monitors/displays.

-Fixed UI cutting off at ultra wide resolution.

-Fixed the rotation in the dungeon, now your last saved rotation will load correctly.

-And of course, some other minor changes that aren't big enough to be put in the changelog. But you'll be able to spot it, I am sure.

Now just some thoughts.

I had a couple of thoughts as of late. It's more about the game's state. While it does have adult content, it is still not the main focus, the main focus was to make a game after all.

If I didn't want to make a game I'd probably just... make a 3D scene viewer with walking, some models and thrusting animations and call it a day.

So I thought that, maybe rebranding or releasing a Mature version of the game instead of AO would be a good idea. I.e, same thing, just without sexual interactions.

But first, don't worry!

I wouldn't change the contents of the game, and even if the safe for work version were to ever release, it wouldn't affect the developement of the adult version. Since I'd probably be building it from the same source, meaning any progress that goes into Adult version will work in Safe version, and wise versa.

Not to mention,

It's only just a thought. Nothing has been really made about it yet... Also that would make it less shameful for people who want to talk about it with others, I think. Since not everyone is very open about... mm, sexual things, changing the way it looks to an average person might be a decent idea.

With that being said.

Only time will tell.

Thank you for reading, and I hope the game is still enjoyable for you.
