Devlog Update - Version 1.0.15 Released

Sara's JOI Training (JOI Training)
A browser game made in HTML5

Hi all! This week there have been several developments with version 1.0.15 and new content for future releases.

I'm currently working on new content, specifically on the mistress images to make them small videos where the mistress stands still and looks at the player. Open the link here below to get an idea of what it looks like.

They are going to be short videos that will be played in loop (the first frame and the last frame are the same images, this way it simulates a continuous motion). I'm happy with the results and I can't wait to integrate them in the game! It takes time to produce them and to iterate on their quality though, so I expect them to be released in about 2 or 3 weeks. It will be possible for users to choose between the static images and the videos.

For those of you who may be interested in how I create these videos, here are some very technical details: I'm using the Wan 2.2 I2V 14B model on ComfyUI and using Runpod to get GPUs (RTX 4090) that are powerful enough for this. I've created a ComfyUI workflow that uses Wan 2.2, a NSFW Lora downloaded from CivitAI, some nodes to make the video better (frame interpolation) and the process faster (sage attention, lightx2v Lora), and a background removal model. I've spent a lot of time this week to work on this, but now it's working well enough.

All the users (both free and supporters) will be able to play the game using these videos, but, as usual, only the most lewd ones will be available for supporters. I have a lot of ideas for other JOI games using particular videos like these, e.g. having the mistress jerk off a cock and having its stroking speed match the speed of the metronome in the jerk off phases of the game.

For the rest, these are the updates regarding version 1.0.15:

  • Fixed a bug that would prevent images from showing on Firefox. This has been reported by several users, thanks for letting me know!
  • It's now possible to independently adjust the volume of mistress audio and metronome beeps from both the menu and game pages. Here's the new UI of the buttons during a game. If the player clicks on the "volume" icon, the player will be able to adjust both volumes (hearing also a preview audio with the adjusted volume).
  • Game settings are now saved in the browser storage and automatically reused for subsequent sessions. You can now start a game with some settings, and the next game will reuse the same settings automatically. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier.
  • The gameplay is now paused when opening settings, volume controls, or bug report dialog during a game.
  • Recommended values are now displayed for jerk off duration and metronome speed multiplier settings in the menu.
  • I've repositioned the "You came" button, now it appears below the progress bar during challenges. I like this new position more.
  • Added "Skip" button during jerk off sections, which allows the player to continue the game immediately. Some users asked for this and I think can be useful to people that want to skip the initial phases of the game.

I didn't have time to work on "marketing" this week unfortunately. This is mainly because I noticed that I got to to create nice videos from the mistress images and therefore I focused my efforts on that. I believe that those videos can lead to a jump on quality of the game, so they took the priority over other tasks. I'll resume my work to reach more people once I've done the update with all the videos, which will be for version 1.1.0 of the game.

Itch.io responded to my email about the JOI Training game not being properly indexed and now the game page on Itch is indexed, they've been very efficient in helping me! The game got indexed on Tuesday 10th and, from then onwards, it got I believe 200/300 views per day just from Itch pages. Here's the data. As you can see in the "Referrer" table, there are now several pages that are from Itch, which wasn't the case last week.

In the meanwhile, thank you very much to all the supporters of this project! We are now at 9 supporters, which is amazing. I'm very happy that people are liking what I'm building, and I'll use this support to make the game better.

If you want to support the development, please consider joining a membership on this Patreon page, as it will help us allocate more time on this project!

Thank you for reading and have a nice day!
