0.1 Release!

Interact With Me!
A browser game made in HTML5

Interact With Me! v0.1 is out now!

Version 0.1 of Interact With Me! is officially available.

The best way to understand what I’m aiming for is to play it, but if you’d rather keep reading, here’s a quick rundown.

First, if you run into any bugs or problems, please tell me as soon as possible. A screenshot of the issue helps a lot. Thank you!

And now for the rambling, which is basically just a small Q and A.

What kind of game is this meant to be?

Interact With Me! is meant to feel cozy and relaxing on the surface, like a warm visual novel you can sink into. But that cute presentation is intentional. The deeper you go, the more it starts to reveal a darker undercurrent and a more complex story hiding underneath.

At its core, it’s psychological horror, built around the idea of having an essentially “perfect” companion at your side, and slowly discovering what that really means.

A huge influence, and no surprise, is Doki Doki Literature Club! If you like stories that begin soft and comforting, then gradually turn that comfort into unease, you’ll probably click with what I’m aiming for here.

What is version 0.1?

v0.1 is an introduction and a blueprint for what’s coming. It’s the baseline, the foundation that everything else will build on. If I had to give it a subtitle, it’d be: v0.1: The Base.

What about future versions?

I’m aiming for a steady, consistent development cycle. Each update will include polish, improvements, and new content, but I also want every version to have something distinct that gives it its own identity.

For example, v0.2: Playful Time could focus on adding more things to interact with, like drawings of books, a ball, plushies, and similar assets. That’s just an example, but that’s the kind of approach I’m aiming for going forward.

Why am I releasing the game in stages instead of all at once?

There are a few reasons, but I’ll keep it short.

  1. Staying organised
Planning in stages feels a lot more manageable than trying to hold the entire project in my head at once. Taking it step by step keeps things clearer, calmer, and less tangled, and I’m hoping that leads to a better end result.

  2. Feedback
My goal is to create an immersive experience, and one of the most fascinating parts of that to me is human psychology, especially how differently people can see the exact same thing. For example, some people see the colour grey as gloomy, others find it comforting, and some just see it as a colour. I want to hear your perspectives, ideas, and wishes so the final version of Interact With Me! can be shaped by more than just my own view. So please, bombard me with recommendations, whether they’re wildly creative or completely "mundane"!

  3. Community
I’m also hoping that steady development encourages ongoing interest, and gives the project room to grow over time.

Realistically, the first point is the one I can actually control. The other two are things I’m hoping for, and I’ll do my best to earn them.

If you spot a bug:

Please share it in the comments so I can fix it as soon as possible. A screenshot helps a lot too. Thank you for taking the time!

If there’s something you dislike:

Tell me exactly what and why. Any feedback and criticism (as long as it’s respectful) is always welcome!

If there’s something you’d like to see in the future:

Please share it with me! I’m collecting ideas for where the interactions should go next, from small silly additions to bigger features. I can’t promise everything will make it in, either because of technical limits or because it doesn’t fit the story, but I really appreciate every suggestion.

Conclusion

Once again, thank you for reading and for giving Interact With Me! a try.

It genuinely means a lot. Whether you spent a few minutes with it or dug through every line, I’m grateful you took the time.

Warm regards!
