KARATE is moving forward fast. Development is active, the core systems are coming together, and because of that, I decided to take a bit more time to deliver a better first release.

This delay isn’t a setback — it’s a power-up.
What KARATE is shaping up to be
KARATE is a classic arcade-style fighting game focused on simple, responsive combat. No overcomplicated mechanics. Just clean gameplay, strong hits, and that old-school feeling.
Here’s what’s currently in development:
Arcade-style combat inspired by 90s fighting games
Simple but impactful pixel art visuals
Punches, kicks, and a Super Punch
Energy bar system to unlock special attacks
Two simple combos (easy to learn, hard to master)
Clear KO, victory, and defeat states
Championship progression from beginner tournaments to Grand Master level
Increasing AI difficulty as you climb
Full support for keyboard and controller
Why the delay?
The extra time is being used to:
Improve combat balance
Polish controls and hit feedback
Reduce bugs
Build a stronger foundation for future editions (Gold & Third Edition)
Back in the 90s, arcade games were simple — but tight. That’s the goal here.
