#Spawn Map Designer
Hello!
I’ve been heads down for a while working on the spawner demo, and along the way I hit a familiar problem:
spawn map events get messy fast.
So I built a tool to fix that.
Spawn Map Designer is a lightweight companion app for RPG Maker MV/MZ that lets you visually organize spawn and template maps instead of wrestling with cluttered event lists.
The app reads RPG Maker map JSON data and places event markers directly on a grid so you can see exactly where your events live. Hover over a marker to view the event name at a glance.
It also stays in sync with your project:
Resize your map → the canvas updates automatically
Move or rename events → changes reflect instantly
No reloading, no guesswork
You can group events into clean labeled boxes, add tags, and choose from built-in prefab group styles (solid or wireframe), or customize your own look entirely.
Once everything is organized, you can export clean layout PNGs to use as background references in RPG Maker. Making spawn maps readable, maintainable, and way less intimidating to open.
This tool came directly out of my own workflow needs, and I’m excited to finally ship it.
Spawn Map Designer is available now on itch.
