World Map Generator Release!

I finally release my world map generator! :D

It's free and you can use it in your browser to make fun maps like this ^ Or download it (free too) for downloading pixel-perfect versions of these maps.

I usually spend most of my time developing my turn based strategy game, Netherguild, but in the last few months, whenever I had some extra spare time during the week, I'd sit down and tinker on this map generator-

It's meant to be used for tabletop RPG game masters, for quickly trying to set up a world for their game- for any artists who enjoy drawing maps, that just needs that tiny creative spark to light up their torch of inspiration, or any other creative worldbuilder.

I had to do some optimizing to get it to be as fast as it is-!

But not all was well and easy- making this project was really tough at times and I ended up learning a whole lot.

Along the way, I sometimes encountered nasty bugs;

But all in all, I'm really happy with the final result.

It ended up looking like this;

I worked a lot on the UI and UX after finishing up the generation algorithm, and it turned using this thing into a pretty addictive and fun experience for me (':

So please, try it out! Just hit [Generate Land] and [Generate Civ] a bunch of times, and you might get some pretty neat results.

And if I manage to awaken your inner world-builder too, then my job here is done.
