🛠️ Development Log – Project Update
🎮 Gameplay Systems and Mechanics
- New textures were added to the button interface used for entering door access codes.
- Multiple flashlights and fuses were introduced, allowing the player to recharge power sources and repair corridor lighting.
- Following the television jumpscare event, the character now disappears and begins roaming the institute environment.
- New paranoia-related activities were implemented within the protagonist’s household.
- A symbolic safe code system was designed, enabling access to the true ending.
- A prototype system for storing and reviewing collected lore documents was implemented.
- A task list system was added and made accessible within the house environment.
- The ability to sleep in the protagonist’s house is now restricted until all active tasks are completed.
🏠 World Interaction and Tasks
- A new domestic task was introduced, requiring the player to organize children’s clothing into drawers within their rooms.
- Visual models of buttered toast were added to enhance the interaction during food preparation sequences.
- The flashlight model was removed due to the absence of a finalized player animation for holding the object.
🔊 Audio and Presentation
- New sound effects were added for collecting lore documents, flashlights, fuses, and for recharging the flashlight.
- The font used for lore documents was changed to a handwritten style to improve thematic consistency.
- Voice acting for the supervisor was added to the introductory sequence, guiding the player through the core gameplay mechanics.
- Additional supervisor voice acting was implemented for the power outage event.
🐞 Bug Fixes and Adjustments
- The duration of subtitle animations was adjusted to better match in-game dialogue pacing.
- Probability values were corrected, replacing test values with balanced gameplay parameters.
- Sound effects were refined to better align with object movement and interaction timing.
