Silver Thread's Future Plans

Silver Thread
A browser game made in HTML5

Hi, everyone! Thank you to veryone that followed up Silver Thread so far! There are two big things I want to talk about so I don't catch people by surprise!

First thing first:

Release Plans

Remember when I said I want to update Episode 1?

As episode 4 approaches and we're close to the series' finale, a lot of things in episode 1 had become more and more inconsistent so I will prioritize remaking it first. Unfortunately, I'm also not happy with the current state of episode 2. It was in development hell for 2 years so at that point I just wanted to push the game out...

Now that I have a better idea of the story's ending, I think these updates will significantly improve the story as a whole so I'm sorry for the wait! I will still post episode 4 previews for those that are excited for  it.

Some NPCs will be significantly redesigned, Astrea & May. The son from ep.3 whose name I keep forgetting. Fia's clothes.
In Twitter, you can also see that everyone's sprites is getting a rework!

For the main characters, my goal is to have multiple sprites for different expressions. I initially wanted to make them animated too but I can't find a good plugin to do that....

Here's a preview of the hotel lobby in case 4 that I commissioned from the amazing mwaayk on Vgen! I think for case 4 I will need more custom assets than ever, which brings to the next news...

Kickstarter?

I am considering running a kickstarter. This is still in consideration and not fixed yet!

But I think having more help will significantly increase the production speed of this game.  As a solo dev,  I already used my own money for commissions and asset packs for Silver Thread but there's still a lot of things I want to improve on.

A big part of it is that I can spend more time working on this game since I'll be able to take in less freelance work. I also want to commission more things like tilesets, art, soundtracks and getting an editor.

This kickstarter will also be a chance for those living overseas to get physical merchandise!
I've figured out how to ship things to the US but it will be a lot pricier since I have to send them through UPS, though....

With that said,  I understand that projects get tricky once funding gets involved. I'm still deliberating if this is the path I want to go for so if you have any thoughts/comments, I'll love to hear them!
