Another week of working on the game, and gameplay-wise we're now on the same level as we were at the end of the prototype phase, but this time with (hopefully) cleaner code, and much nicer character models.
And big news! Our game finally has a name: Detritus, referring to the debris you'll be using in the game to craft objects and weapons, which you'll in turn use to kill enemies.
We have a fancy camera now, that dynamically zooms in and out depending on how close the players are to each other.
Sean started work on the warrior attacks, and his ability to pick up swords and shields. An improvement compared to our prototype from two weeks ago is the fact that enemies spawn and choose who to target, instead of always attacking the warrior.
Glen worked on the engineer mechanics. The engineer can pick up and drop items, and also craft stuff with the items he finds lying around. With the basic recipe and crafting mechanics implemented, we can start refining this feature in the next weeks.
Yannis and Menio worked hard on the player models and animations this week. Take a look.
We are now starting our last week of production sprint 1. Want to test the current state of our game? You can download it from the game page!
