Hi folkheroes. It’s been a while! Much longer than any of us intended. This project continues to be a learning experience for the small team working to make it real. Which is as incredibly fulfilling as it is frustrating at times. Chapter 3’s update has been fraught with creative challenges and revision which led to severe burnout in one of our leads. We’ve spent that time away learning and experimenting with other, much shorter projects in the meantime, like Deadringer. With these shorter stories completed, we intend to put the skills we’ve learned there back into Cryptid Crush, and make it better.
Currently, the game is being ported to the much stronger engine Godot. We’re certain you’ve seen RenPy strain under the weight of Cryptid Crush’s combat, and we are addressing that. There will be changes to the introductory portion of the game, improved combat, improved performance, and all the good stuff.
We appreciate the community and their patience through all of this. Stay tuned freaksters.
