So, after spending several hours playing my 0.1 version, I realized that balancing was quite off. It's very tedious to win the game if there are no cities of your faction close to the final destination, and I couldn't get past the rank of Hobbit at all. While the unaligned cities turning against you is an interesting mechanic that requires some strategic adaptation, I wanted the game to be more casual. With these in place, the expectation is that on Normal a person should be able to win the game in ~1 hour without too much micromanagement, but winning on Hardcore is still a major accomplishment.
