We finished the prototype sprint last week, which means that we can officially start production on the real game. We're starting from scratch again, but this time with more solid ideas about how we want our game to look and feel. A lot of time this week went into creating our backlog of to-do items and planning the production sprint.
Because we started from nothing again, this week's progress isn't that impressive. We have basic movement for the two characters (with the use of Xbox controllers), and a camera following them around. In the coming weeks we'll add enemies, resources, fighting mechanics for the warrior and crafting mechanics for the engineer. We plan on making their gameplay mechanics highly dependent on each other, in order to create a truly cooperative experience.
Quite some stuff has been happening on the art side of the project. Menio and Yannis made several sketches for our two main characters so we could easily decide which one we liked the most.

Warrior sketches by Menio:
We also planned a blockout for how we want our level to look and where we want certain events to happen. We'll keep the layout a secret for now.
After we decided the type of engineer and warrior we want to go for, Yannis and Menio started blocking out the characters in 3D. Here's their Work In Progress:
We now have a clear art style, a good idea for our blockout and the basic mechanics setup. This means that we'll begin to see a lot of progress from here on out. Stay tuned!
