Patch Notes - Known Issues (Dec 29)
Patch Notes - Session 35 Bug Fixes (Dec 29, 2025)
These issues have been fixed in the development version of the game. Itch will likely not be updated for a week or two as I prep/sprint for a steam version. However, they are known and are fixed. If you run into them, sorry about it.
Bugs Fixed:
1. Hive Spawning Infinite Loop
- Fixed: Game would freeze when evolution track needed to place hive but board was completely full
- Root cause: Fallback logic didn't filter out tiles with hives/buildings, creating infinite retry loop
- Solution: Added proper tile filtering and safety exits
- (In the mean time, try not to fill the board completely. It's a rare case of it happening anyways)
2. State-Based Objectives Not Tracking
- Fixed: Objectives like "Advanced Colony" (15 Research) and "Wide Expansion" (7 Buildings) would stay ready even if you lost progress
- Solution: Added
canUnready flag so state-based objectives properly track when requirements are no longer met
- Achievement-style objectives (like "Kill 10 Bugs") still stay ready once completed
- Technically this is a nerf. I just wanted it to actively track the amount of research points value I had
3. Geovores Not Spawning from Blast Mining & Coal Seam
- Fixed: Burrowing Geovores evolution only triggered on Smash/Research cards, not Blast Mining or Coal Seam
- Solution: Added proper event emission for all rock-destruction cards
- This is also technically a nerf because it let you avoid the rocks evolution. It's also technically a buff because they now count for geological survey. So it's a wash.
Timeline: Current itch.io build still has these issues. Fixed version will be uploaded after Steam store page launch (~1-2 weeks).
