Heartland Frontier is a challenging tile-based 4x strategy game where you fight feudal lords and tribal chieftains in the hope of unifying your homeland and resisting foreign invasion. The heartland is the last true untamed frontier on the continent, a depopulated realm trapped between 4 great powers.
I try to do content updates every Friday, I do not include balance / bug fixes in these devlogs. You can check the game manual here for more detail. The main content added to the game over the past week is the following:
The Soldier Rework
Following on from last week's combat rework I have updated the Soldier class to freshen it up a bit. Their abilities are now:
Wreck Baggage: Root an enemy character in place for 7-14 days. Target must be within 2 tiles.
Martial Austerity: Destroy an untapped resource and receive 1-3 influence. Target must be within 1 tile.
No Surrender: Your army will be immune from morale capitulation for 7-14 days. Target must be within 2 tiles.
Single Combat: You fight an enemy in single combat, the loser's army disbands. Target must be within 1 tile.
Misc / Minor Content
Menu: Starting positions have been updated and simplified.
UI: You can now see the controls within the options menu. In the future you will be able to rebind keys.
AI: Character decision-making improved. They will now do a better job of protecting their colonies from attack. How characters choose to build their base has been expanded as well.
