#Ubuntu #Linux
When I uploaded the Windows and Ubuntu versions of Fasteroids 3 days ago the Ubuntu version was bad. When tested on a separate system it created a segfault and didn't run. I've run into this before compiling for the YYC target in GameMaker Studio. I'm not sure if this is a bug with GMS or some missing libraries, but the game compiles successfully with no errors or warnings. The fix seems to be to compile the Virtual Machine (VM) version which embeds a GameMaker runner.
This version was actually compiled on Linux Mint, so although I'm tagging the file with Ubuntu, it should run on Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and/or other Debian-based distributions. Because of GameMaker requirements you may have to install libcurl4 to get Fasteroids to run correctly on your system.
I will be providing an installable .deb file again soon - I need to set up a better framework for creating the .deb files. It's just free time at this point.
