JRPG Music Pack
A downloadable music pack

We're finally there.

What's this?!

It's my project! I noticed most music packs are designed with the typical medieval fantasy tropes in mind. There's way too much of that. So, given the most popular JRPG in the world has a modern setting, people will be compelled to try and make their own projects inspired by that very game... I figured i should try building something for them. A couple of weeks later, this is the result so far.

A little about me, why not!

I live in Chile. This is the very first time i work on a personal project with a scope this big. It can be a bit scary, i'll admit. That said, i'm not entirely new to this kind of thing at all; i've found moderate success in other collaborative projects (which i sincerely don't find relevant enough to mention).

All in all, i'm very excited to see where this goes, no matter how popular (or not) this pack is.

Why upload now?

I don't see why not! I think it's best to have something out there rather than nothing.

One of my worries with uploading this too soon is that most other asset packs rely a lot on having an absurd ammount of content, so people might be compelled to not even give this one a chance since it's, say, 'very lacking by market standards'...

This is why i find it very important for you all to know i'm barely just getting started with this asset pack, and there will be more very soon.

What's included?

As of this post, i included 17 tracks ranging from 40 seconds to 1 and a half minutes long, with themes composed for battle, cities, fields, friends and rivals, a home town, school, shop, titlescreen, towns, enemy enconters, and a tutorial.Basically, it's sort of a starting kit. The full detailed tracklist is included in the main page.

About the design

- I'm inspired by the late 90's / 2000's era of videogame soundtracks. Because composers were limited by available space, you really had to find clever ways to pack the most information possible without compromising quality. This obstacle helped shape the very melodies and sound of those games. These restrictions are a thing of the past now, but those great decisions are still the foundation of what we expect to see and hear in traditional RPGs. It is important to respect them.
- All 'field' tracks will always share a leitmotif with a corresponding 'town' theme, and possibly other tracks, depending on what fits the classic JRPG tropes. I plan on doing this so the music pack remains cohesive and easier to manage for myself.
- Updates/expansions will be designed around a certain themes; as in, i will probably do a 'rainy area' update, a 'tropical/volcano area' update, and so on. I'm always very open to hearing new ideas, so if you want to purchase this pack, please contact me and tell me know what you think.

So, what's next?

Over 30 other tracks are currently in the works and will be added to the music pack for free in the future. These tracks include jingles, alternate themes with reocurring melodies, and much more. I plan to update the music pack in big bulks which will include 10+ files each. I will keep in contact to listen to feedback and make sure the pack stays relevant and useful.

Every purchase helps to boost the quality of this project.

What else should i do to make this project work? Let me know what you think in the comments.
