Ignis VN Demo
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Recent events have led me to this point. I'm rather disappointed in myself that I haven't finished the game by my self-imposed deadline but at the same time, I'm relieved. And no, this isn't me saying that I'll stop working on the game. On the contrary, I'm relieved because I now have a better understanding of how I want this story to go.

I took a break, yes, whether conscious or due to circumstances out of my control hampering me from progress. I took a break and now I'm ready to pick up what I left off. And then when I saw what I had, my face contorted in disgust. This simply won't do anymore but I endured. I tried to salvage what I had, to continue on the path I set and was writing. After all, I've wrote too much to discard. It would be a shame to put it to waste.

And then it finally hit me that I was never going to be satisfied until I've rewritten a significant amount of what I already had down. That's more than a hundred pages at this point, and the thought of erasing and rebuilding some events and lines of dialogue breaks my heart and induces in me a desire to groan in frustration as I roll my eyes back to the farthest position they can consciously reach.

However, it has to be done.

The plot will remain largely the same, although I can't say the demo will remain as it is when the full version comes out. I've just had a mind to adjust how I see and write certain characters on the roster. Also, I am a single person dev who's doing this for no monetary gain. It's a passion project because visual novels are my life blood, the medium is what I live for and what I believe I was born to mold my stories into.

That being said, I am completely broke but I don't want to compromise the quality of my work because of that. Trade off is that I take a long time to do it but hopefully I finally finish a project by the end of the year. Thank you so much to those who are waiting on me to finish this project. I will not abandon it unless I absolutely have to, and as things stand, there's no reason for me to stop.

I will not announce a definitive release date this time until I think I'm finally on my way to finishing up the last parts of the game. Again, I appreciate whatever support I'm given. I'm simply happy to share my ideas with an audience no matter how big or small they are.
