Hello everyone, happy holidays! After some time without project updates, in this devlog I'll explain the project's status and some issues that have arisen, as well as a small update for the demo. English translation! As I explained in the previous log, the main thing to implement for the game's launch is multiplayer between multiple machines, which I think ended up being the most complicated part of the project. Mainly due to my inexperience. Since the demo's release, I've been working to polish this aspect of the game. At the moment, I've managed to get both players to connect in a room and have synchronized movement and bomb launches. Despite progressing slowly, I'm learning a lot about this!
Besides simply establishing the LAN connection, I have to redesign several game systems that work well for single-machine play but are terrible for online multiplayer. For example, one of the most interesting features will be a menu where players can customize their appearance and name, which will no longer be limited to three letters. Gameplay modifiers will also be added later, but they aren't a priority right now.
Among other pending tasks are redesigning the GUI to make it more user-friendly for me as a developer, as well as for the rest of the system (and eventually, for four players in a match). The maps also need to be rebuilt, as well as the different victory and defeat screens. Regarding the core gameplay, a better way to replace the bomb player without relying on luck is still being developed. I also plan to add more game modes, such as a map editor or a survival mode. There's still a long way to go, but know that this game won't be discarded so easily. Happy holidays!
