Patch 1.1

Kinetic Agency
A downloadable game for Windows

New update! A little bit of new content for now, with more planned down the road. 

New doohickeys

  • Delayed the start of every round by a few beats; indicated by "Ready" UI widget
  • Added item prices on icons for the shop
  • Added a new UI element that displays your current damage per shot, updating with buffs
  • Added damage numbers on attacks, for those who enjoy numerically quantifying their violence
    • Damage dealt by the player is in black, damage dealt from agents and other effects is in blue
      • Massive damage will be rewarded with fancy gradient borders
  • Added a toast notification system to the game HUD to keep track of buffs gained and removed due to items over the course of gameplay
  • Reworked enemy scaling. Difficulty no longer scales linearly, and now grows significantly faster in the later rounds

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the Hyperbullet's bonus still applied after it was sold
  • Fixed a bug where the Knife Wallet was giving significantly higher bonuses than was intended (100x as much, to be precise...)
  • Fixed a bug where Clearance Cashews' bonus didn't apply on the first round after you bought it 

Balance changes

The aim of these changes is to diversify strategies a bit, mellowing out some of the strongest strategies and creating some item anti-synergies. There are still plenty of ways to reach very high rounds using these - play around and find out!

  • Raised starting cash to $10
  • Money is now capped at $200
  • Made a small subset of items rarer and harder to come by than the other more common items 
  • Ruby Needle has been reworked: now gives a base +100% attack damage during Critical Time and this bonus increases by 10% every time it activates
  • Hyperbullet now only gains power when Critical Time is NOT active. It also reduces its bonus by 20% after every round
  • Endless Fudge now starts at +3 rather than +1; still scales at the same rate as before
  • Gold Chain now gives $4 rather than $10
  • Clearance Cashews now starts at 150% rather than 100%; de-scaling increment is still 10%
  • Kinetic Marble now gives +50% bonus attack power rather than +25%
  • Foam Dart bonus damage is now capped at +500
  • Prehistoric TV now has a 3 second time penalty rather than 4
  • Agent Headhunter damage raised from 25 to 75
  • Made several price modifications:
    • Methoxyethylmercuric Acetate: $15 -> $8
    • Calculator Watch: $10 -> $5
    • Particle Ring: $10 -> $16
    • Agent Headhunter: $5 -> $3
    • Agent Good & Evil: $5 -> $8
