Dev Log – Refreshing My 2D Skills with a Fast UE5 Course
Before jumping into our next wave of 2D projects, we’re taking a quick refresher to sharpen the fundamentals. We’ve been following a short Unreal Engine 5 course to rebuild our workflow with Paper2D, sprites, flipbooks, tile maps, and the core systems behind a simple 2D game.
This isn’t a restart, it’s a reset. A fast way to clear out the rust, tighten the basics, and get ready for more ambitious 2D prototypes under the Lock N Load Games banner.
Next up: experimenting with new mechanics, building small test levels, and pushing toward more expressive 2D experiences.
