Cassius
A downloadable game for Android

For playtesting, we got a lot of help feedback. For playtesting at Game Club, we had our original mechanic. That was having the player scan the bridge and stairs cards and them being able to “build” and move it in the scene to help the player progress. However, a lot of them said it was too much to do when holding the phone and moving the cards around. That is why Justina and I re-evaluated the mechanic and decided to take it out because it was too buggy and hard for the players to use. In Wonderville, as the game became a more polished prototype, we asked for feedback via Google Forms. Our main questions were, were the chapter cards out of place, if the story fits well with the game, and was there something you wanted to do in the game but couldn’t. Players said the chapter cards didn’t feel out of place but it felt unnecessary to scan them every level. Also, the players got lost and didn’t know where to go. So, they suggested some UI elements such as an arrow, to point which way to continue in the game. The players really wanted to do more in the game. The main one was reorienting the bridges and stairs instead of tapping the screen to spawn them. Moreover, the players felt that the story went well with the game and the visuals of the environment suited the story being told as well as creating a calming experience that we have aimed for.
