#status_update
Hello everyone! I know updates have been sparse, but I have been working on another important project this year and haven't had the time to build a real feature update for a while. This, unfortunately, is not a feature update. It is, however, a very important update for the project itself. In version 0.26.0, the graphics quality was increased, as well as the lighting. Now, instead of getting 4 FPS, I was able to get a smooth 50-60 FPS with the reworked lighting. This is major news, as this new system will also pave the way for more work I have planned. While this is not the complete project overhaul I was working towards (I promise it will happen at some point), this is definitely a graphics and lighting overhaul that was needed since this project first began. I hope you all enjoy actually being able to run the project at a decent framerate for the first time in years, especially now that it supports both Windows, Mac, and Linux (which I will usually update at the same time). Oh, and I did add one extra bit of functionality; you can now zoom using the right mouse button. That was another thing I needed to add for a while, because you know... you're supposed to look at things in museums. This will help with that.
*Also, for my MacOS users, I have no way of testing those builds (MacOS virtual machines are a bit more difficult to deal with), so feedback is especially crucial from your group.
If you notice the game has been stuck at a lower version and won't update, you may have to re-download a fresh version the project especially after recent updates.
As always, thank you for staying with Under The Pacific: USS Tang!
