Xeno Fighters R v0.401 brings a focused set of improvements that make the gameplay experience smoother, fairer, and far less frustrating for everyone. One of the key balance changes centers on Stage Y-01 (Restless Jungle 1.4), where the bullet density from dangerous foes like the Giant Bat, Giant Flying Fox/Dragon Hornet, and Moth has been intelligently tuned. Now, bullet patterns dynamically adjust according to the player’s rank and the chosen difficulty setting. This means each run through the Underground Jungle feels just right—whether you’re seeking a more accessible ride or a bullet-hell challenge, you’ll find the balance tailored to your skill and play style.
Bugfixes in this update target some lingering issues that could interrupt the fun or even break the game. The Queen Bee midboss in Stage Y-01 no longer suffers from a stuck charging flash on her abdomen if you destroy her first phase at just the right moment, making her behavior more predictable and her visuals cleaner. The Stage EX-4 endboss, BonziBUDDY, has had his health bar display corrected so it no longer overlaps with the Game Over overlay. Another polish point is the weapon mode power level HUD, which now intelligently hides itself whenever the Radiant Silvergun boss warning gains text is on-screen, preventing distracting visual clutter during high-intensity moments.
But the most important change by far is the fix for a serious, game-breaking regression bug introduced in v0.400. Previously, if players paused and then unpaused the game during Stage F-C, all enemies would immediately spawn at once, resulting in instant chaos and ruining carefully crafted stage pacing. This has now been fully resolved in v0.401, restoring the intended flow and ensuring that Stage F-C plays exactly as designed, even when pausing mid-battle.
If you updated to or downloaded v0.400, it’s absolutely vital to grab the v0.401 update as soon as possible. Not only will you enjoy better stage balance and a much cleaner HUD, but you’ll avoid the dreaded Stage F-C pause bug that could derail an otherwise perfect run. Download v0.401 and get back into the action, now smoother and more refined than ever!
