In this update we have some interesting things:
fireflies and mites are added to the world - fireflies have a lifecycle where they eat tops of grass and can then mate and drop eggs that hatch into new fireflies - if you create a terrarium for them with grass you can multiply a lot of them! They will appear in newly created worlds. In the future, we will have some upgrades and possibly craftable pixels that use materials based on them :D Mites will turn Dirt into Loam, which will be useful in a future crops-related update, but you can start playing around with them now
moved the cooking recipes into a subcategory in the Upgrades tab, which now has categories for Tools, Suit, and Food; this is a reorganization to keep the number of tabs down as I added the Ship Status Tab for keeping track of which ship systems are broken/fixed and what their costs are
new pickup/drop sounds for solids, liquids, and gases!!! finally we have something other than the arcadey blooping sounds - these will continue to become more refined over time but it’s at least a start :D
also, this build will scramble player inventory identities because of the new biological pixels, BUT: in the future we shouldn’t have this problem, because player savefiles moving forward will now have a lookup table to resolve their pixel identities, so hopefully this will be the last build where we have this issue :)
That’s it for now - figuring out the basic behavior of the biological pixels took me most of the day, but as we add more of these, including various plants and fungi, they are going to make the entire world much more alive, and enable some new technologies and types of machines!
