Wowie, a VistaVision’s House Remasterered update?! In this day and age?!?!? WOAH!!!
There’s quite a lot to note here, so take a close look:
Major Changes
- Updated the debug menu significantly and added more options
- Added a button to re-play a bossfight if it has already been completed before
- Added a new secret + achievement
- Added 2 new items:
- Literal Gumboots: If you have these things on, you won’t ever get trapped in Lime’s broom.
- H20 Bottle: A healthier alternative to the Raspberry Soda. Drink one of these and you’ll regain some stamina; it even stacks, too.
- Added 2 new Endless Mode events:
- Item Confiscation: The items are temporarily removed from the map, and Purply will get mad at you for using one.
- After Hours: Most characters, save for Purply and Lime, are disabled, and Purply gets mad at you if he sees you at all.
- Double Trouble has been replaced with Teacher Triforce, now including Sam from Sam’s Schoolhouse and a new ending
- The inventory can now be clicked on with the mouse like in Sam’s Schoolhouse
- Revamped the settings menu (you probably need to adjust your sound settings again)
Minor Changes
- Updated the SFX for most status effects
- The Raspberry Soda has a new background loop (only plays in certain modes; can be disabled)
- Changed Vista’s slap delay calculation a bit and made Listo and Glungus slightly faster
- Emittey’s taunt/teleport sounds have been redone
- Replaced the temporary sprite for when the player falls into holes
- Made the player’s hitbox slightly more lenient (can pass through between more desks)
- Slightly tweaked item spawning behavior
- The detention text has been moved closer to the bottom of the screen
- Updated most text (save for captions and other complex cases) to use a custom, pixelated text renderer
Bugfixes
- Fixed the Need for Speed and Solve My Riddles achievements being auto-unlocked (you must re-earn them if you played on a previous update)
- Fixed a bug where the camera scroll transition would not be disabled when quitting
- Fixed a bug where you could click buttons during the first screen transition after loading into the menu
- Fixed the sepia filter from the Time Slowing Machine persisting on the win screens
- Fixed the input system for the Soundtest screen
- Fixed the doors in the credits scene being misaligned
- Fixed voicelines playing over themselves in the assignment paper math thingy
- Fixed the events in Endless Mode being able to repeat twice
- All items and status effects are cleared when warping to the office or boss arena
Sorry for the delay!! This definitely took way longer than it should have. Don’t worry, I’ll try to work on my time management in the future…
Truth be told, I wasn’t even able to shove in all of the content I had planned! So, I’ll be working on a follow-up to this update somewhere in early 2026 (already???) that will hopefully tie up all of the loose ends.
Also, unfortunately, I don’t think I will be implementing a controls screen at all due to the work of creating the UI for it. Hopefully the default controls are good enough. If you have any feedback, feel free to tell me in the comments.
In the meantime, I do have something else planned to release soon (which is partially why this update took so long). Please stay tuned for that, and I really hope you enjoy it when it comes out!
