Happy Friday!

Data Decay
A browser game made in HTML5

Happy Friday everyone, you made it through another week. Here's a big bundle of updates to have some fun with!

UI/UX

  • Controller support! Including glyphs
  • Controls (m/kb or gamepad) displayed on main menu & pause menu
  • Changed Health UI to ProgressBar
  • Added flashlight battery UI
  • Added keys to bottom UI bar
  • Recolor/minor redesign of most (all?) menus
  • Updated Weapon UI to display affix non-stat effects and currently equipped stats
  • Y-Sorting of player/enemies/game objects
  • Rework of Stash UI

Items

  • New Item - Door Key: opens a locked door, consumed on use
  • New Container - Weapon Case: a rare container that always drops a weapon
  • New weapons: Rifle, LMG, Rocket
  • Dozens of new weapon Affixes and Special Items

Mechanics

  • Door Rework - new sprites, open with interact, lockable, better lighting
  • Added "battery" mechanic for flashlight and UI
  • Weapon effects:
    • Shock - periodically does damage and freezes the target in place for a moment
    • Fire - does burn damage over time
    • Cold - slows movement
    • Knockback - knocks back :)
    • Pierce - Don't consume the project upon hitting the first enemy, but damage it and continue (can stack)
  • Movement penalty while firing based on weapon type, e.g. LMG = heavier = slower movement while firing
  • Personal Teleporter
    • Safe pocket concept - save % of money/ammo based on level
    • Location unlocks - Pay $ to unlock new locations (currently just practice arena for 1$)

Bug Fixes

  • No more emptying containers when you can't carry the contents
  • Projectile behaviors in general, but specifically ricochet/explode & status application order
  • Fix issue with suffix/prefix name spacing
  • Fix picking up guns when already carrying 2
