Devlog — Minor Update Incoming (v0.2.2)
Hello everyone,
I wanted to share a quick development update and give an overview of what’s coming in the next minor patch (v0.2.2). This update focuses on improving gameplay balance, enhancing clarity, and cleaning up a number of issues reported during the last version.
For anyone who would like access to v0.2.2 but doesn’t wish to subscribe to Patreon, I will also be including a direct paid download link here on itch.io once the update is live.
GAMEPLAY & BALANCE
Claire now receives increased Mood penalties for certain actions. This was always part of the intended design, but the change was delayed to allow players time to learn the core mechanics first.
The following actions now affect Mood more strongly:
Collecting samples from patients
Treating patients of poor or good hygiene
To balance this:
Higher Tolerance now reduces Mood loss
These changes should make stat investment and decision-making more meaningful.
CLINIC UPDATES
Visual feedback when Claire gains a stat
Hover tooltips when a mutation is learned (to display descriptions)
+1 additional AP point to help balance stat progression
Skill menu added
Claire’s initial class is now displayed in the Pause Menu
VISUAL & UI IMPROVEMENTS
Improved visuals for buttons, dialogue frames, and menu frames
Background box added behind names during dialogue for clarity
Visual indicators added to the town map
Updated sound effects for certain actions
BUG FIXES
Fixed an issue where the new Town Map layout wasn’t being applied in some scenes
Fixed volume settings not applying correctly in Kate’s shop
Removed lingering text and mutation icons after Clinic sessions
Fixed an issue where Clinic rounds could end unexpectedly
IN PROGRESS
Engine migration: Construct 3 → Godot (in progress)
Patient silhouette animation (1 of 3 completed)
Additional visual and system polish in progress
As always, I’ll be closely monitoring feedback and will continue making adjustments to improve gameplay and the overall experience. Thank you to everyone who’s been playing, testing, and sharing thoughts — it genuinely helps shape the direction of the game.
More updates coming soon.
